Topic: Old Digi9652 and HDSP 9652 together?

I have a TYAN Dual Quad system running with an old digi9652 in the pci-x slot.

I am going to do a live recording and need 32 channels.

I'd like to get an HDSP 9652 and use it together with the digi9652.  I have an open pci-x slot.

Would there be any issue using the HDSP 9652 and DIGI 9652 together?

hi, I have the same question ... I have an old pci-card with the multiface, it is said, that pci cards normally work with 5volts, so that it may damage the pci-card when simply putting it into an pci-x slot which run at 3,3 volts ... I searched the specs to find an answer, but nope

this is the only problem I would see in your configuration ... a volt problem ...

in terms of using 2 cards together in the same pc (in the right slots wink ... I think it should work, you should sync them together via spdif or adat

They will AFAIK not show up as one asio device.

Re: Old Digi9652 and HDSP 9652 together?

ok correct! great ... but 2 more questions concerning the volt question with my rme multiface (series I / pci-card)

1. can I put this particular pci-card (Multiface I) in a pci-x slot (66 MHZ / 100 MHZ) ?

2. concerning syncing the 2 cards (the above with a Fireface800 on a Lacie FW800 Controller PCI-X (100 MHZ) card): is it necessary to sync them via adat/spdif? what sync is better?

thanks in advance

Re: Old Digi9652 and HDSP 9652 together?

here are the answers wink

1. I have a Rev. 1.8 pci-card, the darkbrown one (not the blue ones) ... construction week 21 03 ... year 2003, week 21 ... this particular card is a 3,3 / 5 Volt compatible card, which has IIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIII .... instead of IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIII .... so this card can be placed inside an 64bit PCI-X slot and the card will run at 33MHZ

2. syncing is done through spdif ... one of the cards has to be set as master and the other as autosync

thank you verrrry much ^^
