Topic: Install problem with multiface II

My PC specs are:
Intel i7, 3ghz 6gig Ram
32 Bit OS
Multiface II HDSP with PCI card (powered by Firewire cable)
Driver version 3.0.8.5
Firmware indicates no update needed (but I’m not sure I am communicating with the box)
Windows says the driver is installed and working fine
DAW = Nuendo 32 bit

Device status (I/O box state) in the Settings panes says ‘Error’

Front panel of box has a single red light lit by ‘Host’

When I try to tell Nuendo to use the box, it gives me the following error

Device:                                  ADAT (7+8) (RME Hammerfall DSP)
Errorcode:                           FF9-5-0044 [800004005]
Info
Device could not be opened

The device shows up in the device manager under Sound, video, and game controllers.
I am running 32 bit (did not see a selection option during install to choose which driver to use, 32 or 64)
I do not know who used this box before me at the company.  It is possible there are some internal jumpers set.

I couldn’t find a manual on line.

Re: Install problem with multiface II

Do you know what revision the PCI card is?  Only PCI rev1.8 (recalling from memory, either 1.8 or 1.9) will properly power a MF-II.  Can you try an appropriate external power supply for the breakout box and see if that does the trick?
