Dear people,

I use a condenser mic to record voices.
I put on directly on one of the xlr inputs on my Fireface 800
Do I need something to compress the signal?...or to limit?
Because I know that if the signal is too low is bad for recording on digital...and also, for example, for a voice, to prevent clipping, should I put a mic pre and/or compressor before the xlr input on the firewire?
