Topic: Record digital instead of bouncing

Noob question! I want to record digital instead of bouncing in my daw. out and route back to my pc. Is this possible? I have Fireface 400

A basic function of a DAW is to record a track while listening to what has already been recorded. This is exactly what you are asking to do, except that what you are recording will be what you are hearing!

Unless there's something else in the digital loop between output and input, the exercise is pretty pointless though.   Some people feel it's good to loop separate tracks out to an analog mixer, then back in again.
