Topic: mac os SL totalMix crash on open

Hi,

Andrew here, just got my setup together, Brand new 2.2Ghz MBP smile and installed the new drivers for my fireface 800 ( I think!? ) and with the Fireface unplugged I opened TotalMix to see what it was like. My mouse stopped responding along with the keyboard. Had to restart... any ideas?

Software:

System Version:    Mac OS X 10.6.7 (10J3331a)
  Kernel Version:    Darwin 10.7.3
  Boot Volume:    Macintosh HD
  Boot Mode:    Normal

...and I installed this:

Mac OS X SL (10.6) Intel driver for Fireface 400 / 800 / UFX, version 2.91. Supports 10.5 in 32 bit, 10.6 in 32 bit and 64 bit. This driver requires firmware 1.70 (FF 400) and 2.77 (FF 800) or higher.

the first one in the downloads list of MacOS in the firewire section.

was I supposed to have the 'firmware' installed ( wheres that!? ) or was it supposed to be plugged into the fireface?

either way, that shouldn't force a restart on a brand new computer.

EDIT: it works ( and doesn't crash) now I plugged it in and installed firmware... weird.

Hi,

TotalMix or FF Settings dialog doesn't work when FF800 is not connected !
FF800 needs a communication with firewire between computer and FF800
Firmware is for flashing FF800 hardware with software, good it's working :-)
