Topic: Recording direct sound ie radio or what ever comes from speakers

I've had this sound card now for 5 years. ever since that time I have not been able to record what I hear from my speakers. I have sound forge and have tried audacity but no matter what I try it does not work.

Maybe I should down grade to a sound blaster as I had no problem with that little thing. I could also play battlefield with it. I have to be honest I have no idea why a sound card that cost so much finds it such a complicated to do such a simple task. Do I need to study the manual for a few months or something???
