Topic: Digipad 96/8 problem

sorry for my english.
after installing the card on my new computer i'm having problems while working on ableton live ver. 8.2.2 and Cubase 5 ver. 5.1.1 .
it's just keep getting stuck and get unresponsive to the point i have to restart my computer.
i suspect it something to do with the sound card,it's either faulty or i'm having problems with the driver which is the latest 2.11.
or maybe i'm wrong.
any ideas how to check on what the problem is and what to do?

please help ,i'm desperate and have no idea what to do.
HeadScratch

my setup is :
Intel CORE i7 950/3GHz/4.8GT QPI/8MB CACHE/LGA1366
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R i7 LGA1366
and Kingston 6GB KIT 2000MHZ(PC3-16000) memory sticks

thanks

Re: Digipad 96/8 problem

sorry,forgot to mention.

windows XP 32 bit.

you probably ask your self why 32 bit if i have 6 GB of ram? the answer is that i'm saving up to buy a new RME sound card( probably the Fireface ) that runs on 64 bit,so till then i'm using my old 96/8 .

any ideas ?

Re: Digipad 96/8 problem

Tech support anyone? :-)

Re: Digipad 96/8 problem

Not a known issue, I'm afraid. Please test the card in another PCI slot.

Re: Digipad 96/8 problem

thanks for the reply.

i don't have any more available PCI slots as this MB comes with only one.
i do have free PCI Express slots that are free.
can i use a PCI To PCI-E PCI-Express Adapter? if yes, which one is the best to go with the digipad?

Re: Digipad 96/8 problem

Hello,

we do not test such adapters, sorry... Can you test the card in another computer?

Re: Digipad 96/8 problem

You should test your RAM with Memtest86+.

Re: Digipad 96/8 problem

for what reason ??
do you think that it something to do with the memory sticks rather then the sound card?

Re: Digipad 96/8 problem

And make sure the power safe options of the cpu are turned of in the bios.

Re: Digipad 96/8 problem

well.
after testing the memory using Memtest86+ it found no errors .
i also thought maybe it something to do with the Bios, any ideas or specific settings i need to set in Bios?
i guess if it's not something to do with the Bios it can be only faulty Digipad ,no ? sad
