I have a PC with windows XP it is a core i7 i use sonar 8.5 with a RME Fireface800, i dont seem to be able to run more than a few vst's or plugins without my cpu meter hitting 100% i posted on a few other forums about this and got some information.

Someone suggested my fire wire port on my PC might not be Texas Instrument Chipset which might effect performance. Can a firewire port effect my cpu usage ?
