Topic: Crackle during record/playback Fireface UFX-Logic Pro

As soon as I try higher sample rates then 44.1khz I get Crackles during record/playback.

My system is:


Modelnaam:    MacBook Pro
  Modelaanduiding:    MacBookPro5,2
  Processornaam:    Intel Core 2 Duo
  Processorsnelheid:    3,06 GHz
  Aantal processors:    1
  Totaal aantal cores:    2
  L2-cache:    6 MB
  Geheugen:    4 GB
  Bussnelheid:    1,07 GHz

Running Logic Studio (9.1.4)

I am lost and don't know where to look anymore in order to get this issue resolved, need Urgently help.

Where do you change the sample rate (FF settings or Logic)? Do you have other devices connected digitally to the UFX?

First of all thanks for your quick reply, Chapeau! ;-)

No other digital devices connected. Yes I do change sample rates within in Logic however I tried also to change them in "Fireface USB settings".

Before I was using Metric Halo 2882 & ULN-2 and never experienced these issues.

I have even cleaned my hard disk (format) and re-installed all OS, drivers and software.

Current installed:

OSX 10.6.7
Fireface USB settings 1.50
Firmware v342
Totalmix 0.93

Have you tried higher latency settings? Don't think you need very low latency settings for most of your work, do you?

Hallo Daniel,

I tried within Logic I/O Buffer size from 32 up to 1024 samples however no improvements

I have not checked with Firewire yet, will download drivers and see what the result will be however I want to emphasize that I would like to run my unit in USB mode.
