Topic: [Fireface UC] Can't install on brand new Macbook Pro

Hi there,

I have a brand new Fireface UC that I'm trying to install on a brand new MB Pro (early 2011 edition).

The driver install runs out fine, but when I restart my computer and try to run the Flash Update Tool it shows up on the dock but closes instantly with the following error message :

"No fireface driver or device installed"

I've tried several times and deleted all the files suggested on this thread : http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=9233

Did you change it to Mac mode (instead of PC) as explained in the manual?

Does FF Settings and Mixer open/ Is the HOST error LED lit up?

No they don't. The red LED is lit...

Then the unit is not communicating with the driver. Please check again for the Mac mode, and tell me which driver you installed.

I have the EXACT same problem. Used to work on the old macbook pro and it was fine. Then I tried to install the driver on the new macbook bro 2011 and got the same problems. FF Settings and Mixer won't open and the red led is lit the whole time. It says there's no driver or devices installed.
Help anyone?

I don't have a new MBP, but I suspect it's no driver problem - works fine for me on Mid-2008 MBP. EIther your computer or the UC has a hardware issue.

Or try the UC on a different computer.

Driver version 2.91 is the FIREWIRE driver! USB drivers are at version 1.50! fryingpan
