Topic: Main Out B / Speaker B

According to Babyface's User Guide, 21.4 Section Control Room

Assign. Allows to define the Main Out and up
to two Phones outs.

The options I have are:
Main Out
Main Out B
Phones 1
Phones 2

I understand these and they work perfect, except Main Out B.
When selected, it creates a „Speaker B” channel which outputs no sound.

For example, if I assign AN 1/2 (properly routed) to Main Out B,
the channel dissapears from left and appears on right but the VU meter drops down.
No more sound; tried with PH 3/4 and AS 1/2 - same results.

Re: Main Out B / Speaker B

Total Mix will route the signal to *either* your main out or main out B, not both at the same time.  Once you set up the routing with the assign button, you should see a button in the control room section that says "Speak. B."  Click it, and you Mains (main A essentially) will be muted and main B will be audible.

The „Speak. B” button!
Thank you!

Re: Main Out B / Speaker B

You're welcome!  That confused me at first, too.  Note that once you get the two sets of speakers set to the correct volume levels, you can click the "link" button (above the Main B fader, I think) so that any volume changes to one set of speakers is mirrored in the other.  Very nice feature.

Re: Main Out B / Speaker B

Indeed!

The whole Main Out / Main Out B / Phones 1 / Phones 2 thing gets much clearer
when you follow the names changing in the Matrix as you assign them.

Is there an updated manual availalble?
