Topic: Hdspe AES latency VS other hdspe card

Hello,

Sorry for my bad inglish, i'm French.

The latency given for the HDSPe AIO/MADI/Raydat are from 0.7 to 93 ms.

Only the HDSPe AES has the mention "Zero Latency". Why ? Is this card have a lower latency that the other one ?

Re: Hdspe AES latency VS other hdspe card

You mean the point "Enhanced Zero Latency Monitoring for latency-free submixes and perfect ASIO Direct Monitoring" in the AES specifications?

The card supports direct hardware monitoring (direct connection inputs -> outputs) and ASIO Direct Monitoring. In this case the inputs can be routed directly to the outputs and mixed in TotalMix without "leaving" the hardware of the card or the external FireWire/USB interface. All RME HDSP(e) cards and RME interfaces (Fireface/Multiface/Babyface) support this mode. There is no latency difference.

best regards
Knut

Thanks, it's clear ! smile

And, is the Multiface II connected with the PICe card has a 0.7 ms latency as the HDSPe product ? In the specification of the multiface, there is "1.5ms" and not "0.7"

That has changed later with a newer driver. We can not update all specs all the time.
