Topic: FF800 strange thig happens in control panel

I am using the FF800 with a A16 MK-II Ferrofish converter via ADAT. Everything seems fine. FF800 master at 44.1. But the control panel under Autosync Ref shows:
input - ADAT1
freq - it keeps changing back and forth between 44.1 and 88.2
if I try 48 it jumps between 48 and 96.
Nothing change if I link the two devices with word clock.

what does this mean?
I am on Vista32bit and using the 2.9992 driver. Should I upgrade to version 3?
I don't hear any problem with the audio. Should I just ignore it?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,

maybe A-16 MK-II only can be in Master mode
and FF800 as slave mode ? I don't know this device so it's a guess ?
clock should always be stable, one Master and the other devices follows/(slave)
try and see what happens

I suspect the Ferrofish to send the official DS indication in the ADAT signal, which must be fixed in its design or firmware. But apart from the visual indication the FF ignores this flag anyway, so you can work on.

Thank you very much for your quick replies.
I already tried Ferrofish master/FF800 slave but it doesn't change anything.
I will submit the problem to the Ferrofish people and maybe they'll fix it with a firmware upgrade.

You are 100% right. They sent me a software update to solve the problem.
Thanks.

Hey, Biss, what can you tell me about this Ferrofish Converter? How it sounds? Does it sound better than the FF800 converters?? Does the FF800 sound better when clocked to the Ferrofish (Ferrofish as Master; FF800 as slave)?

I'm really interested on this converter and i'd like to thank you for your opinion.

Cheers.
