I don't know if it's an RME driver issue or a problem with the way Google talks to Core Audio, but the Google Talk test sound doesn't play when the Fireface UC is selected as output (it does with all other options). It's not a TotalMix routing problem either, none of the meters move. There is simply no audio coming from the driver to the unit itself (although all other regular OSX applications work just fine, including Skype). I've tested this with Google+ (granted, beta software) but I thought it might be something to be addressed by RME.
