Topic: RME should make USB/FW add-on cards to other manufacturers!

Wouldn't it be awesome if RME would make 3rd party add-on cards for other manufacturers such as Yamaha and Tascam?
Yamaha has abandoned mLAN long time ago, leaving bunch of 01v, 01v96, DM1000/2000 mixers out the with no future connectivity to computers. Tascam is not very active in developing and upgrading the FW cards/drivers for their DM-series. This is really bad for the users 
I know it is an utopistic thought, but has there been any speculation on the subject ever? Could it be done or would it be just a financial disaster?
