Topic: HDSPe Madiface on thunderbolt?

Because thunderbolt includes the PCIe protocoll, is it posible to connect a HDSPe Madiface to thunderbolt?
RME connects their interface to the Expresscard by IEEE 1394a cable (known as Firewire 400 cable).

Is it possible to go from Firewire400 to Firewire800 and then adapt from Firewire800 to Thunderbolt?
(see: http://www.holdan.co.uk/Sonnet/Accessor … cription).

Does anyone have any experience to go this way?

Are there any plans to make this madi-interface available for Thunderbolt in the near future? I want to run this interface with a MacBook Pro. But 17" is still a big machine to carry arround.

With kind regards,

(Obviously) No, only the other way round.

Re: HDSPe Madiface on thunderbolt?

For those who are interested:
I've got a Sonnet Echo Thunderbolt to expresscard interface, which I tested yesterday.
Set up: 13" macbook Pro 2,8Ghz i7 thunderbolt to Sonnet Echo, then to RME madiface, connected to an Digico SD8.
Via madi I ran: Itunes for music playback, Waves plugs for dynamics and fx, and a 32ch recording with Reaper.
This worked flawless during the complete soundcheck and showtime (8hours) !!

Grtz,

@ Gijs: al goe bezig met plugins ?

Re: HDSPe Madiface on thunderbolt?

Wow! You ran Waves Multirack and Reaper simultaneously? No problem with performance etc? How many plugins did you use? What CPU usage did you have?
