Topic: Fireface with Via VT 6303 or LSI L-FW3227 chip?

Hello,

The motherboard of my new desktop has a LSI L-FW3227 firewire chipset.
I own 2 PCI- firewire cards. One with a Via VT 6303 chipset. The other one with a TI chipset.
I know, the TI chipset works perfectly with the fireface. But do the Via and LSI that also?
Is there a list with compatible chipsets?
Kind regards,
Pieter

Hi Pieter,
The board we've used that has the Via has been fine with RME using the native or Legacy driver.
I have not tried one with the LSI but they in general have been problematic for people on both PC and MAC.
I don't know if this model LSI is the newer one that supposedly works better.
In general VIA would tend to be the next best chip to a TI one.

Thanks Chris
