Topic: Excuses from rme

There is no reason for rme to not support linux on a technical basis..   They dont need to open their technology so everybody can see the workings etc which is apparently the main reason they don't produce drivers.

So all linux drivers can be provided as compiled kernel modules with a nice little script to load it etc. not rocket science.

I do think it's time they start supporting Linux officially.  I'd love for my madi card to be officially supported with a nice gui mixer and everything. Linux is super powerful.  I just wish I had the full power of the rme card to compliment it. 

The card works, but I dont have the 112x56 martix mixer and I'm bummed about that...

*2 it would be great - they dont have to give away their source code either - plenty of commercial software on linux (or am I mistaken?)
