Topic: Fireface as simple volumcontrol

Hello!

I have a CD-player and two aktive ADAM loudspeakers. A friend left his Fireface 400 at my appartment. Can I use this FF400 as a simple stand-alone volumecontrol for the two loudspeaker-amplifiers( without wrecking the device). I have tried several settings with no luck. My freind left no installation-cd, so I am not able to use my computer for settings.

Thanx in advance

Re: Fireface as simple volumcontrol

I can't imagine a convenient way of doing this.  You can use the FF400 stand alone, but then how would you go about adjusting the level of output without using your computer and the Fireface mixer?

I own an FF800, and I cannot use it stand alone to control my monitors and sub.  For this, I use a Coleman Audio monitor controller in my rack.

Edit:  whoops -- it looks like the FF400 offers front panel control that the FF800 lacks.  You'd probably be fine using it stand alone to control level.
