Topic: Fireface 800 suddenly just produces digital distortion on output-help!

Hi,

I bought a used Fireface 800 recently and it was working fine and I was very satisfied with it till about an hour ago. It suddenly stopped playing sound, just producing digital mess ("diggadiggadigga..."). I switched it off and back on - still the same. Tried the other FW port, tried FW400 port switched off Mac (MBP, 2007), still there. All analog output channels are at max in the mixer (the left 12 or so). Will try on my other Mac later. Sounds bad but maybe someone can help! If it's the hardware, does RME sell replacement parts/boards or do I have a 800€ door stopper now?

You can't buy parts, but you can send the unit in for service.
