Topic: Fireface 400, MB Pro and HDD with FW 800

Hello,

I have a MB Pro with its FW 800, one HDD with FW 800 and my Fireface 400. Is it a stable solution connect first the HDD to MB Pro so it works better with FW 800, and then the Fireface to the HDD? Is it stable and sure? I always have listened that the first is the audio interface, but I don´t know if that´s actually truth and why.

Hi, yes this should work. This set up has worked great on my macbook pro early 2008 for 3 years. I am not sure of the stability on the macbook pro due to the the new chipset installed by apple.

It will work as long as the HD's Firewire ports work properly.
