Topic: ufx mic input 9 to 12 as line in
i would like to use my neve preamps instead of the ufx mic pres (the back 8 line in's are all used up). the question is: do the xlr inputs bypass ufx pres?
thanks!

No.

The UFX preamps are designed to be absolutely neutral. Even with the highest gain settings. A gain value of 0 dB don't affect the sound in any way so a real hardware bypass makes no sense. If something is different to the inputs on the rear it is not the digital preamps but the Advanced Parallel Conversion of the four front inputs.

thank you both for the info. looking at the link eric provided, a pad seems to be the answer.
cheers!
