Topic: RME Hammerfall Multiface I + Cardbus Card

Hi.. !!

I work with RME Hammerfall Multiface Version 1 Audio Card for long time. I use a connection with Cardbus card to laptop.
I decided to buy a new laptop, coz the present one need to be switched with new one.

Some of today's laptops on the market doesn't has a cardbus slots, so I'm asking for a little help.
Expresscard to cardbus adapters works great if you own cardbuscard.. ?

I was thinking or to buy an adapter or to connect my Hammerfall Multiface 1 via IEEE 1394 (Firewire 400).
What do you think which is best solution for my situation.. ?

It doesn't work if I connect Multiface via Firewire 1394 cable to my laptop..?

Of course you can't connect the unit to a FireWire port, it's not a FireWire device and connecting it this way will probably damage the Multiface. Also, adapters to change Cardbus/ExpressCard to FireWire don't work.

You can look at the Fireface 400 or Fireface UC as a suitable replacement for your Multiface/Cardbus.

Alternatively, replace the Cardbus with the HDSPe Expresscard, and continue to use the MF...
