Re: Freeze Crash

Try this:

- Change the firewire driver to legacy
- Processor Scheduling set to background (this makes a huge difference)
- Change power options to high performance
- Turning of UAC
- Disabling the Aero theme
- Disabling audio playback in windows thrue the FF
- Disabling indexing options

Turned off the services like:
- Offline files
- Windows search
- Computerbrowser
- IP Helper
- Distributed Link Tracking Client
- Application Experience
- Remote registry
- SNMP Trap
- Netlogon
- Windows remote management
- Remote Desktop Services Usermode...
- Tablet PC Input Service
- Certificate Propagation
- Windows Media PLayer Network Sharing...
- BranchCache
- Smart Card
- WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service
- Portable Device Enumerator Service
- Application Management
- Smart card Removal Policy
- Fax
- Webclient" *

Re: Freeze Crash

thanks for the tips.

>>Change the firewire driver to legacy

for the driver i have 3 choices:

1) Asio Direct X full dublex driver
2) Asio Fireface
3) Generic Low Latency Asio Driver

at the moment we have selected option 2)

we need low latency for playing e-drums thru BFD2

>>Disabling audio playback in windows thrue the FF

we have only one audio interface the fireface800

>>Distributed Link Tracking Client

don't find the german word for this service

>>Netlogon

don't find the german word for this service

all other services you told we have disabled now

Re: Freeze Crash

Hi Mididoc

Have your problems been resolved now? We're having a random crash which is sometimes accompanied by a machine gun type noise, but with a 2 x HDSPe RayDAT setup on Windows 7 64bit and SAWStudio. I've posted a message in the HDSP forum, but wondered if it could be related to what you experienced also?

Re: Freeze Crash

Do *not* turn off any Windows services! You are using Windows 7 in 2011, don't follow advice for Windows XP from 2002!

Make sure you are using the "High Performance" power-profile.

Hi,

well, not really.

In fact we have changed our computer.
With the old one, we could not find the real reason.

So we built up a new one, and believe it or not,
just when we had finished the whole installation and configuration,
and everything was working fine at the new machine,

the old one did his last breath and was damaged, just on the last day of warranty.
