Topic: HDSPe AES DSP menu oddity?

I have a newly installed HDSPe AES 32 card with the included expansion board installed as well. Win 7 64, latest firmware, and drivers.

I have my Mytek 8x192 is my 'master clock', and my Focusrite isa428 also clocks to the Mytek.
Both units connected to the HDSPe via AES cable obviously, and I set the RME clock source to AES 1.

Regardless of what unit is master or how I wire my BNC, my DSP menu options are completely different than what listed or pictured in the manual.

Is the manual out of date....has the DSP menu options drastically changed?

I have no options for controlling SyncAlign, AutoSync, no DDS tab.  Very odd.  Is this normal?

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: HDSPe AES DSP menu oddity?

Yes, it's normal... Sync Align is no longer required, "Auto Sync" is now integrated into the choice of Clock Source. If an external source is selected, but not present, the card will automatically be set to internal clock. The separate DDS tab is gone, pitch can be controlled within the main tab.

Re: HDSPe AES DSP menu oddity?

Excellent.  Thanks for the quick reply.

Last couple questions about clocking.

Within the 'Input'' field, 'Word' says 'no lock'.
I was told that I can just send the Mytek clock down the AES cable and not use a BNC cable(I selected AES ch 1 in DSP menu for clock source).   Is the clock indeed 'locked' regardless?

Also, should the word clock be terminated on the HDSPe card as well by moving the jumper?
Is the card technically considered last in line in my case?  Keeping in mind my Focusrite connects to the Mytek via BNC also.

Re: HDSPe AES DSP menu oddity?

Hello,

Since you sync via AES input, the Word Clock input has no signal. In this case Word Clock does not need to be terminated as it is unused.
