So, still brand new to Fireface UC. I can't seem to get it working with Logic9, so I decided to try it with Ableton Live 8. Set up just fine. Set the buffer size the same as I do with my PreSonus Studio Live (thinking that the RME is a way higher end piece of equipment.) Bad news is that I'm getting terrible crackling with the buffer set at 128.  Keep in mind that my computer is a nearly new macbook pro, maxed out.

So, putting 2 and 2 together... my UC doesn't work with Logic (see post below about the error message) and it doesn't really work with Ableton either. So, what gives? Do I have a setting wrong? Something is way off here and I can't seem to figure out what it is. Any suggestions?
