Topic: Any problem on using LACIE usb PCI card with rme UC?

Hi, I have a mobo with ich8 and I need to add a PCI to USB. I' m about to buy a LACIE controller. Is it ok? Is the chipset ok? compatibily with rme uc.

Hi Henry,
As long as it is a USB 2.0 only card not a combo Firewire//USB card then it will work perfect.
If you are using Windows XP you do wan to be careful with adding too many firewire ports.
Some chip sets and motherboards that have like 10 plus USB possible on board will act up when and more.
Under XP you will sometimes start getting memory address blue screen issues.

Pardon Chris, I am changing USB card brand. D-Link. I am on w7 x64.
Yes it is only for USB.

Yep I want to keep a dedicate PCI-USB card clean and ready for the UC only.
I have a good custom PSU (enermax)
