Topic: 9652 soundcard with adi 8 pro sync issue ?

I was hoping someone could help me with this frustrating problem.

I have just received my Nuendo 8 i/0 converters (same as adi 8-pro ) to run with my Rme hammerfall 96/52 soundcard and I am having some sync and connection problems.

I am running the converters adat in and out from my soundcard and I have the setting on the converters on input ( I have tried all the other options also ) and sometimes it syncs and other times it just flashes.

When it does sync the weird thing when I have my guitar just plugged into a preamp di , as soon as my computer is on I am getting sound from my computer before I even have cubase open. So I can play my guitar and hear the Di coming stright back out of my speakers with no audio program even opened.

When I am using it through cubase  with direct monitoring off and with a guitar simulator program open the clean di signal is always in the background behind the simulator sound. I recorded some guitar with a click track and the click track leaked into the recorded track also in the background.

My setup was rock solid before when everything was going from the behringer ada8000 and this nuendo unit is hooked up the same but am experienceing major issues .  What would this be ?

Thanks

Re: 9652 soundcard with adi 8 pro sync issue ?

I actually have the exact same Nuendo branded ADI 8 pro converters + the RME Hammerfall HDSP 9652. I remember sometimes having the same problems as you, and when it happen, I think I pressed the "combine sync" twice to make the sync steady. This was with an old Hammerfall Digi 9652 I/O card. But for 5-6 years ago, I bought a new computer, plugged the Digi 9652 over. And since that time, I didn't see the problem again. Also with my new investment.. the HDSP 9652, I haven't had any sync problems. It's still the same computer, just bought the HDSP card to get 64bit drivers for windows 7.

Hmmm.. could be a ADAT cable issue, or maybe as computer PSU issue. I don't think it's your converts or I/O card. I must have solved my periodic sync'ing problem with the new Q6600 computer I bought, or maybe by some of the ADAT cables I have switched a couple of times.
