Topic: babyface - ecternal mic pres into analogure inputs

hi folks,

i know that the babyface has mic pres on the two analogue inputs, and i have read on the forum here that if the pres are set to 0db they are effectively not in operation ie it becomes a line input. does anyone have any further comment on this? i have some very nice neve pres that i use, and on my current setup go into two channels on an ADI-8 DS. is going into the babyface with the pres at 0db truly as clean as going into an ADI-8 DS input, or is some coloration possibly imparted? i'm thinking of down-sizing my setup and selling the ADI-8 DS - i don't need all its connectivity - but want to be sure about the babyface input's performance at LINE level...

gary.

The BF's inputs have no "coloration" - neither with nor without gain applied...

Apart from that I am pretty sure the Neve preamps will overload the mic inputs of the BF, even when set to 0 dB gain.
