Topic: FF800 crashes Windows.

Hi dear people,

so after 2 years all of sudden my PC (Windows 7 64bit) doesn't like my FF800 anymore.
As soon as I turn on the FF800 I get the blue screen (your computer has been shut down in order to prevent damage etc.).
When connected (via FW800) and turned on while PC is booting I dont even get past the Windows loading screen.
I did get the one or another random crash in the past (about once a month) but didn't blame it on the FF800.
However, this time it's pretty obvious.

I just checked and recognized I didn't install the latest drivers (June 2011).
I can't really get to install it now though!

Thing is, I got to get a project finished until Thursday so I really got to get this going!

Any ideas?
Thanks for your help,

Jan

So, searching this site I found this thread:

concerning a similar problem, though not as intense as mine now.
I can't even disable the FF800 in the control panel - sounds tab as it doesn't appear there as long as its turned off.
And when I turn it on... well, blue.

Have you tried booting into safe mode and then removing the drivers that way?

Then you can download the latest or what ever drivers and install them. (Leave the fireface off until you want to reinstall it)
