Topic: High Frequency Crackling / Clipping RME FF800 and Lion 10.7.2

Hi Folks,

Been using Lion 10.7.2 on a test disk with Logic 9.1.5 and standalone applications and I'm experiencing HF crackles or more like digital clipping for want of a better description.

It's not exclusive to Logic as it seems to happen on standalone applications also but is most certainly intermittent, but very noticeable when it occurs.

The mixer does not appear to be overloading and there is no CPU overload whatsoever. Buffer sizes are the usual setting for me (128 / 256 / 512 samples depending)this is most certainly a feature of Lion OSX as all was fine with 10.6.8 and the firewire chipset / cable / computer are the same. Mac pro Dual 3Ghz quad using FW800 cable.

I am using the firmware 2.77 and the latest driver 2.97. I'm trying to nail down whatever it is causing the problem but all plugins etc seem to suffer at some point so of course I'm digging around here first smile

Anyone else experiencing this anomaly? Any suggestions much appreciated!

Cheers.
