Topic: Madiface on windows xp lenovo netbook s10e causes resources conflict

Hi,

I'm using a Madiface with an express card on a Lenovo Netbook S10e running on Windows XP SP3. Everything was working fine and I did record up to 45 channels successfully. After the last automatic windows update the card is recognized by the system but cannot be used anymore. I'm getting an error message in the device manager saying "not enough ressources available (code 12)"
I stripped down the Netbook to the very basic and all other audio hardware is deactivated. I was looking through some helpfiles but can't get it fixed.
Anyone who has an idea? It might has to do with the latest update from Microsoft but maybe it is something else.

Thanks
Chris

Latest update of what? Did you by chance update the BIOS?

Re: Madiface on windows xp lenovo netbook s10e causes resources conflict

I did the security update that comes with Windows regularly. I updated the BIOS of the Lenovo as well but that was some weeks ago and didn't cause any problems so far.

I tried to reinstall the driver but had no luck. Still getting same message: conflict of resources (code12).
Tried to sort out the resource allocation within windows but I couldn't see any problems. But again I'm not a windows expert, really.
Using MacBook Pro for all of my work and only got the Lenovo as a recording device.

Last resort would be to reinstall windows xp from scratch to see if the problem persists. But would like to avoid this time consuming process.

You better try the ExpressCard in a different computer to make sure it isn't broken. For that you don't need audio software on the test machine, just insert the card and install the drivers.

okay. will try. thanks

Re: Madiface on windows xp lenovo netbook s10e causes resources conflict

I tried on my old MacBook Pro and the card has been recognized by the driver.

I think I have to reinstall windows. Would you recommend to install Windows 7 ? Is it slicker or causing too many known problems?

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Madiface on windows xp lenovo netbook s10e causes resources conflict

Hi again,

I'm still trying to get my Madiface work on the Lenovo S10e.
Meanwhile I installed Windows 7 but the problem persists. So far all my research hasn't been succesful.

Oddly enough I have another LenovoS10e running on Windows XP which has been working reliable for weeks now.
I just would like to have the second Netbook as a Backup. You never know with PCs ;-)

Anyone who has an idea? The Madiface is causing a resources conflict but I can't figure out where and which other device to deactivate in order to make it happen.
Are there any known issues regarding this error?

Appreciate any hints.

Chris
