Topic: Updating firmware

Yesterday I experienced severe problems nwith the firewire 800 trying to set up a 10 channel session. Could not make it work with the asio driver, even wdm did not work...A pop up tells me I need to update to the latest firmware version, though I bought the F800 end of june 2011.
Can you tell me how to proceed please? Thanks for your help

Re: Updating firmware

Besides the popup, what exactly does not work? What is the exact firmware version on the unit and what keeps you from just running the latest update?

Re: Updating firmware

Though I see the signals on all 10 channels in the TotalMix, nothing gets onto the hard disk with SAM11.03. It is not possible to force the card to use Asio drivers for the 10 channels, this is only possible with WDM , but even so, no results.
However, I can take the stereo output from the analog outside mixer and record it onto 2 tracks with asio drivers.

How can I find the exact firmware  version, and how can upgrade when necessary? Thks for your help

PS Fireface mixer drivers version : 3.033

Re: Updating firmware

Hi Zigor,
This You Tube video will show how to update both the driver and the firmware correctly.

Re: Updating firmware

Thanks, Chris

The firmware update seems successful : I am now able to set up 10 channels simultaneously on the Fireface 800 and record them simultaneously...At least in the studio : final test is tomorrow night for a live recording in a club : I cross my fingers!
Anyway, thank you for the help you provided.

Re: Updating firmware

Still a no-go saturday night...at least, the problem is identified, my new Lacie Firewire 800 R34 card does not work in my new MSI laptop running under W7-64 bits. The blank trial made in the afternoon with the studio fixed system (also running under W7/64) was successful but could not  be duplicated with the laptop.
Fortunately I had provided an emergency plan and could record the concert but mixing directly in 2 tracks without a computer.
Now, is there anybody who might give me some advice to cure the trouble, since neither the PC salesman, neither Lacie have provided any anwer yet.

Many thanks again for your help.
