Topic: MacBook pro 15" with FF800 or ufx?

Sorry for question that might seem stupid for some folks...

I'm *forced* to use and buy MBP 15" (current version - Intel i7 proc). Since I'm a windows based person I do not anything about Macs. Is it possible to have some sort of "Dual Boot" on that mac in aspect that windows (XP or 7) will run flawleslly with FF800 or ufx. What about chipset in current macs? Any problems?

Thanks!

Re: MacBook pro 15" with FF800 or ufx?

Windows 7 will run using BootCamp, a boot manager (XP no longer supported). I would go for the UFX, also because you have the option of using USB or FW...

Tnx for reply.

As I understand, with BootCamp I can run win 7 and stream audio via FW (asio) using FF800 on MBP15 with no expected problems. I do plan to upgrade my system to UFX someday, but right now I own two FF800 interfaces and they work as they should (winXP - win7), so no real need for ufx.

Re: MacBook pro 15" with FF800 or ufx?

Macbook Pro 15 has arrived and software is installed.

Mac Book Pro 15, i7 Quad (2.0GHz), 4 GB ram, 500 GB 5400 RPM HD, FireFace 800

Win 7 (using bootcamp):

Excelent performance, it seems that win7 runs better on mac than on PC. Tested with custom audio software, RATT and latest Cubase LE.

OSX (LION):

Excelent performance, tested with latest Logic Pro. 13 audio tracks with plugins @ 128 samples and 48kHz.

It seems that MB15 is a good investment for pro audio.
