Topic: FF 400 Error Code 10 on windows 7

I recently bought a new PC and I can't properly install the drivers for my Fireface 400. I did a Windows Update I downloaded the latest drivers from the RME website and installed the drivers from the file "win_fire3059". I restarted my PC and the FF400 wasn't working and when I checked the device manager under the RME driver, the device status had this note "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I checked that the drivers from my Firewire PCIe where up to date and tested other devices on it like my Liquid Mix DSP, I checked the cables, restarted the PC multiple times. I also uninstalled and re-installed the drivers a couple of times and disable the built in audio drivers as well... and I don't know what else can I do.

These are my System Specs:

Model: DELL XPS 8300
OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) !7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz
RAM: 16GB
System Type: 64-bit Operating System
PCIe: SIIG DP Firewire 800
Graphic Card: AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3
Network Card: Standard USB + 10/100/1000 Ethernet
AMD High Definition Audio Device (Currently disable on the device manager window)
Intel(R) Display Audio (Currently disable on the device manager window)
Realtek High Definition Audio (Currently disable on the device manager window)

If anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know asap I would really really appreciated it!

Re: FF 400 Error Code 10 on windows 7

Try using the "Legacy" driver for your FireWire chip: http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=12742
