Topic: Naming outputs for nothing ?

Hi,
In totalmix when i rename the hardware outputs everything is fine.  AN 1/2 become  DRUM, AN 3/4 become BASS etc etc....
BUT when i decide to feed software playback in outputs using Submix view the names don't follow !!!
Is there someting wrong my side ?
I use last drivers

Not sure I understand the problem.  What do you mean when you say the names "don't follow"?

Re: Naming outputs for nothing ?

When i feed output software in output hardware and move from an output to another instead of reading DRUM, BASS..etc..  i see AN 1/2 AN3/4.
For example i would appreciate in the pic below that AN3/4 became BASS

The old version of totalmix used to do this. As i use totalmix for feeding headphones with reverb and comp it's painful to remember who is who !!!
i hope to be clear.

Re: Naming outputs for nothing ?

Are you sure the old version did this?  I thought submix view always operated this way.  I am not sure why this would matter in any event as the highlighted channel in the output row clearly shows which output is selected.  Maybe I am missing something.

You know you can double click the playback channel name above the fader to rename it, right?  So if your bass is on PB channel 1/2, rename it "BASS" *above* the playback fader (same as you did for the output row).  The channel name below the fader shows what *output* channel is selected, which again is already shown in the output row in submix view.  I renamed all my active Input, Playback, and Output channels and run several mixes regularly, and it is very easy to know which channel is which.

Do you "SAVE" the workspace or "SAVE" the snapshot stuff and load those back up?>>>???????

I do this all the time with no problem, even with a beer! I still fail to see what information you are lacking to effectively make these mixes.

Re: Naming outputs for nothing ?

I mean that even the  channel in the output row become highlighted and shows the output selected it's not efficient to me. I always mistake this way or get slowly
I regret the old way i describe before . Thanks Neirbod for your support

Re: Naming outputs for nothing ?

The display of the user defined channel names within the routing menu of TM FX has not been on our list so far. I will check if this is possible.
