Topic: USB direct recording

hi All,

is it really possible using usb direct record for 5 hours continuously non-stop?
I wanna record a show from top to bottom which last for 2.5 hours.
is it reliable? or should I plug a ZOOM recorder into UFX for safety sake?

Re: USB direct recording

Backup is always a good idea, but the recording will also run for 50 hours, if required...

Re: USB direct recording

There are many reports here and on the Gearslutz forum of people sucessfully recording direct to an external USB drive for several hours.  That being said, I would never record *any* live performance without a backup.  Seems like the most typical situation is to record both to a USB drive and to a laptop DAW, but a Zoom recorder would work as well.

I just did 2.5 hour non-stop recording to DUREC (and to the lapto at the same time) for a live concert on Saturday.
Four mics, 44.1/24. Absolutely zero problems.

For prolonged DUREC recording, just use portable hard drives. I stop playing with USB flash memory drives.
