Topic: Totalmix problems

I'm new and having problems. The posted intro videos seem to be for an earlier version and don't help.

To begin with, I want to copy some old DAT recordings via AES so I can then dub them and remix them. Then I'll be using mics and instruments, but first things first. I'm able to get signals from the DAT into the Hardware Input bank, but not into any of the other banks. I once got them to show in Software Playback, but not into Hardware Outputs or Control Room. So, to keep things simple...

How do I route stereo AES input to Software Playback and/or Hardware Playback so that I can record it to hard drive (using a Mac) and at the same time monitor it through Control Room? I'm also curious if it's possible to record through the Fireface but at the same time monitor through a different external DAC.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

You can not route signals from inputs to software playback, only to hardware outputs.

Re: Totalmix problems

That video is an older version of the software. It doesn't help at all. All the buttons are different now, and many don't seem to have similar replacements. How do I route Hardware Inputs to Hardware Outputs and/or Control Room?

Re: Totalmix problems

The video explains the basic principle of the way the mixer works.
The manual explains the new features or buttons.

Re: Totalmix problems

I understand the principles, but there just aren't similar buttons on the new interface, and the manual is dry and vague in some spots. I've been reading threads on this forum and others seem to note the same.
