Topic: can i connect a babyface on my mac to a fireface UC on my pc via ADAT?

I have 2 rigs that sit together, i want to start doing more projects on my mac but alot of the time i have no choice but to be able to work with the pc at a moments notice, so that means alot of switching around if i try to transition over to the new platform... I have the fireface UC which has been great, and i wanna just leave it hooked up to my pc for now and plug into it from my mac system.... i am thinking the babyface could be the right option for the mac

I am wondering how complicated would it be to do this with the ADAT I/O of both cards... If i have my vocal chain pluged into the UC, could I use totalmix to route it over to a Babyface connected to my mac? and the playback from the mac to route smoothly over to the UC? would clocking be a concern? or could they play nicely? I know some of my projects are at higher and lower sample rates, now if im careful I'd hopefully be able to open them up without hardware locking up the sample rates due to clocking & the adat connection or something...

Any thoughts? Could this work?

It is very simple task to connect two interfaces via ADAT. One is master, the second is a slave in aspect to the clock. The only concern is, that projects on both machines must be at the same sample rates while sharing audio channels to each other. You can solve this by resampling one of the projects (you will lose some quality (<-100dB), so make a copy of your original).
