Topic: Babyface: where is buffer settings for system output?

Hello!

There is no Buffer settings in  OSX version of Fireface USB settings panel (but Windows version have).

But, if I use RME as devise for system sound output, and just listen music by pressing space key, cracles accurs once at 2-5 min. Where I can to see (and change) buffer settings for this mode?

In the Mac software that you use (if it allows to do so).

my question  about system sound, in Finder. See - if I powering computer on, and no runing any software, and select in finder audiofile and pressing Space key for play it. What buffer settings for this situation?

What is default buffer size for Finder? It must to be increased for avoiding cracle

It's not possible to change the default buffer size in Mac OS X. Only audio/video programs with a buffer option can do it.

But I doubt that a to small buffer size is the reason for your problem. Maybe a check with the activity monitor when the crackles occur can help to identify another thread or program which eats up the CPU in this moment (CPU jumps to 100% like a hanging Thunderbird in the background). And don't forget the usual stuff: Repair Disk Permissions, turn time machine, Bluetooth and other unnecessary stuff off.

But it was all right, when I used Apogee Duet. with wifi and bluetooth and about 20 programms running!!!

Repair Disk Permissions, turn time machine.. May be, also, 'not power on your computer'? Not power - not crackles/problems.

Very strange..

But listening audio/video files in Finder - very useful thing!!!

Yes, doing it all the time. Works great with the Babyface - even with 20 programs running and the audio is stored on an external HD. There must be another problem.
