Topic: UFX Channel Configuration / General Instability Problems

Hi,

Been a UFX user since last October -- very happy with it in general! But, I've been having problems as of late with the unit. Now, virtually every time I power it up, I'm having issues configuring the channels. Channels 9-12 don't respond to the 48V/Instrument setting, etc. When it's in this state, I often get loud clicks and pops on the output channels, and general instability (sometimes all the lights will light up on the front, sometimes none of them). Eventually, through enough restarts, unplugging-replugging of the USB, I'm able to regain control of it.

I'm running Mac OS driver 1.63, DSP 1.44, and USB Driver v351 in Mac 7.6.7/8 (I do switch between a Mac Pro and Macbook Pro). I don't think that this is a computer driver/USB problem, as running the unit standalone (with no USB or Firewire connection) doesn't immediately resolve the issue. The front panel of the device always seems responsive, just that setting channel parameters (48V, Instrument), have absolutely no effect (as read by the front panel LED's).

Hoping I don't have to send the unit in for service -- as I use it daily as the centerpiece of my studio/band rehearsal/live setup, but running out of ideas!

Thanks!

I fear you do have to send it in, sorry. At least there is warranty for you.

Re: UFX Channel Configuration / General Instability Problems

Bummer -- thanks for the quick response though. Looking at the manual -- says to contact my local retailer... but seems that after over a year this is something I should deal directly with RME for? Any idea what the typical turnaround time is for this kind of repair? Just trying to plan things out...

Thanks!
