Topic: UFX, Octamic II, and MacBook Pro w/ Logic 9

I'm a drummer using 12 mics in my project studio.
(using a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w/ 4 GB of RAM/7200 RPM/Snow Leopard/Logic 9)

Does anyone foresee a problem (clocking, adding more preamps in the future, etc.) using a RME UFX (4 inputs/$2,000) as my interface and connecting a Octa Mic II ($1,600) as the preamp?

For this price point, would you recommend another combination? I'm looking to upgrade from my PreSonus FireStudio interface.
I have a treated room and some decent mics. I'm interested in recording drum tracks and emailing them to customers.

Thank you for any input.

Hi Neal,
Yes this combination will work great and sound great together. The Mic-Pres on both the UFX and the Octamic II are great for drums.
It will be a huge upgrade from your Presonus on so many levels... smile

I deleted your other cross posts since we do not allow cross posting.

Thanks Chris
