Hi,
    I've had this card (DIGI96 PAD/8) in an old Mac (733 mhz circa 2000) for years and it worked fine. I got a less old, better machine (Mac G4 dual 1.25 mhz PPC circa 2004) and wanted to put the card in this better, less old machine. This computer has two systems on two hard drives. 10.4.11 on one (migrated from the older computer, with all configurations) and 10.5.8 (system upgrade installed on the 10.4 migrated original) on the other. In the older machine, DIGI 96 settings version 1.4 (03/18/2005) worked fine running in 10.4.11, that computer couldn't run OSX 10.5. I was hoping to be able to use the card running 10.5 in the dual 1.25 mhz computer. It shows it in the system profiler, but it also says "drivers not installed", it doesn't appear in CORE AUDIO dialogs and my audio program, PEAK doesn't see it because core audio doesn't see it. I've run the installer for version 1.4 and it doesn't work in either 10.4 or 10.5.

This computer should be able to take this card, AND this driver should work in 10.4, as it did in the other one and it even should work in 10.5 too, right?
What's wrong? Why does the driver not work? This is the last G4 Mac before they went to G5 and PCI E right? The driver is newer than the computer.

OK I have solved the problem. Why this mattered I can't say but just in case this be helpful to someone sometime, here's what it was.

The DIGI96 had been installed into PCI slot 2. AFAIK, a PCI slot is a PCI slot. Apparently not. System profiler saw it there in slot 2, but not the driver. Just to try something to find the problem, I moved the card to slot 3 and voila, the driver now "saw" the card too and it worked normally in both OS X 10.4.11 and 10.5.8. So now this card is working fine in what I think is the last Mac model that can run it.

I had exactly the same problem and I moved the card from SLOT-B to SLOT-C and that solved it!
