Topic: recording mic from ff into ableton

hi there guys,
im have problem recording audio from the fireface 800 into my ableton daw. basically ive hooked up a mic to the channel 7 input on the front, and all i get is a direct output to my monitors. The audio input in my ableton preferences is the fireface and so is the ouput. it has no problems outputing from ableton. Its just when i try to arm a track, ext in, i get no signal from the mic??? in the preferences there is an exlamation mark to the left of the audioin/ouput section? could this mean i have to update drivers??? any help would be very much appreciated

Try different presets in your totalmix window, or enable input 7 in abletons preference window

Mixer presets will have no influence on the recording path. The problem seems to be the Ableton input configuration. Have you tested recording with other software?
As for the exclamation mark, this has nothing to do with the drivers. Check the Ableton manual or online help for an explanation.
