Topic: Totalmix freezes when unmuting logic surround panner speaker

I have a problem with Total mix on the Fireface UFX freezing when I unmute a speaker in logic 9s surround panner . Or even just running a logic session in surround . A stereo session or new song is fine . There is a loud digital bang and then the level meter on the totalmix output goes into the red and stays there until I reboot logic. Any ideas?

Sounds like TotalMix is not freezing, but Logics audio playback buffer.

Probably but how can I resolve it. It also happens when I change outputs on a project from stereo to surround . My buffer size is 512 which should be plenty.

All drivers, firmware, and software versions fully up to date? USB or Firewire?

I am using USB and yes all up to date. Maybe it's just that using surround panners uses up more cpu and ram ? Seems strange though that all is fine in stereo.
