Topic: HDSPe AIO vs BabyFace Converters

Hi,

I am stuck between HDSPE AIO and BabyFace, I have TL Audio and Avalon pres so I will not use BabyFace's preamps and mobility is not that important (mostly I use desktop PC for music production, I rarely use laptops). The most important thing is the clock and converter quality for me (both AD and DA), can you please give detailed information about this subject? Thanks.

Re: HDSPe AIO vs BabyFace Converters

Guess I have found some information and they both have the same converters as Cirrus Logic chips for DA and AD; ADC is CS5381 chips, and the DAC is CS4398. Both have SteadyClock so they have to sound identical, I hope someone can tell me if this information is true or not ??

Re: HDSPe AIO vs BabyFace Converters

The AIO is probably more suitable if you'll only use outboard pres. These have a "High Gain" setting that will typically work better with high output preamps that could have too much level for the Babyface inputs.

Thanks for the reply, really appreciated; I did not even think about the "high gain" setting..
