Topic: Just switched on my FF400 for the first time...here comes the noob!

Hi everyone,

At the moment my face is glowing...I finally got the holy grail of audio interfaces, and boy it's good!
Here's my first of hopefully not too many noob questions: once I switch off my PC, my FF400 stays on (it's on power supply, not bus). Shall I flick the switch at the back to 'bus' once I switch off the PC?

Admittedly this is my first ever FW interface, and my sense of paranoia isn't helped with the contents of that yellow note that comes with the package - you know, the one about hot plugging. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your kind attention...
Regards,
Woody Aki

Sure, if the bus is not powered, this works like an "off" switch.

Just switch off the computer any time you plug in or unplug the firewire cable and you'll be safe.
