Topic: Babyface noise from Behringer ADA8000 connected via ADAT

Hi,

I have extended my Babyface via ADAT using a Behringer ADA8000 device. However, sometimes when restarting Windows and always when going to Linux, I'll get a heavy noise coming from all speakers connected to the Behringer ADA8000. It just stops when rebooting into Windows and the drivers are connecting to the Babyface. Speakers which are connected to the Babyface make no noise. It seems as if the standby mode creates this noise or could you think of a reason related to my ADAT device?

Thank you very much!

How do you wordclock your devices? Different on both platforms?

Re: Babyface noise from Behringer ADA8000 connected via ADAT

Hi,

I'm using Windows 7 x64 Pro for musical work and Linux for University and scientific work. So while using Linux the Babyface is just connected but not in use. However, initially I used the Babyface as the master clock device, which seems to be the reason of my noise. After switching the master clock to my Behringer device, everything seems to be ok. Does the Babyface automatically to master clock when no ADAT device is connected?

Best regards,
