Topic: Fireface 800 Vs Digidesign 002

Hi

I am thinking of upgrading my soundcard in my studio to the RME FireFace 800. I have two questions which I hope can be answered;

1. I am using OS X Lion on my Apple Macbook Pro - Will I encounter any problems when installing the drivers and working with Logic?
2. I will also be connecting the RME 800 to a PC which currently use's XP Service Pack 2 - Again will the drivers work okay?
3. What are the differences (if any) between the RME and Digidesign 002 rack?

Thanks

You won't encounter any problems when installing the drivers and working with Logic.
Well ... I never had any prob.

2. I will also be connecting the RME 800 to a PC which currently use's XP Service Pack 2 - Again will the drivers work okay?
I don't work with PC's / Windows ...

3. What are the differences (if any) between the RME and Digidesign 002 rack?
There's a lot of differences, you better check RME and Avid web sites for this.
I would go for the FF800, no doubts

2 I work on PC ans I expect no problems.
3 For one RME has much better drivers. IMHO the best. SO expect better low latency performance.

Thanks both. I'm now thinking about buying the new Universal Audio Apollo audio drive as this will be Thunderbolt ready, so weighing up my options at the moment.
