Topic: HDSP AES32+HDSP 9652 on a Z68 mobo: Too much for the PCIe-PCI bridge?

I tried to read all the related posts so apologizes if this has been addressed before..

Current config: HDSP 9652+HDSPAES32 PCI.

As many other users out there, I will probably upgrade our tracking PC with the latest Z68/i5 or i7 chips. From what I read here on this forum, it seems like the latest revisions of the most standard MOBO (ASUS/INTEL) are working fine with the legacy PCI cards which is good news, however I wonder if the PCIe-PCI bridge will be able to cope with the bandwidth required to run both the PCI HDSP AES32 + PCI HDSP 9652 simultaneously? Any other possible quirks I should be aware of (like CPU hit)?

Of course I will finally upgrade to the latest PCIe cards at some point but what if I start upgrading one card at a time, for instance running PCIe RayDAT¨+PCI AES32? Will they still run under the same ASIO driver?

Thanks for your help!

All HDSP drivers share the same ASIO driver.
As for the perfomance of the bridge, we don't really have any test results or specific feedback, you may just need to try the hardware in question.

Re: HDSP AES32+HDSP 9652 on a Z68 mobo: Too much for the PCIe-PCI bridge?

Thanks for the swift reply Daniel. I may be wrong but if PCI MADI card (64 ch) are working fine, I should be on the safe side with AES+ADAT (42ch altogether if I am not wrong)? Well let's cross fingers...

Of course if someone has somme hands-on experience with a similar config, feel free to comment!

Best,
